Asia Pacific Trainings

The ROS 2 Basics Course in Asia Pacific is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of ROS 2 concepts, facilitated by practical engagement with both hardware and simulation environments. Over the course of three days, participants will gain comprehensive insights into the fundamental operational principles of ROS 2, as well as a firm grasp of the essential communication concepts that can be harnessed to craft sophisticated ROS 2 solutions tailored to their specific applications.

This course holds significant importance as it is among the essential prerequisites for the advanced courses listed below:

Advanced Courses

The ROS 2 Navigation Stack Course allows participants to acquire a proficient understanding of the Nav2 Stack, enabling them to effectively deploy robots utilizing this platform and customize it to align with the specific requirements of their mobile bases.

The ROS 2 RMF (Robotics Middleware Framework) Course aims to equip participants with basic understanding of RMF and its seamless integration with their mobile robotic systems. At the end of the four day course, participants will be able to understand the core concepts and purposes of RMF. They will also gain practical experience in simulating RMF operations, discerning its capabilities, and proficiently incorporating mobile robots within the RMF framework.

The ROS 2 Robotic Manipulation Course equips participants with essential ROS 2 manipulation skills and the ability to effectively use open-source packages for manipulation tasks. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will possess a practical understanding of how to adeptly employ a range of open-source packages, such as Moveit2 and ROS 2 control, for the purpose of conceptualizing and designing a manipulation system within a simulated environment. Moreover, they will be capable of effectively demonstrating these concepts using physical robot manipulators.

The ROS 2 Robotic Perception Course aims to educate participants with the foundational knowledge of robot perception and to use open-source machine learning and computer vision software tools and packages to facilitate the deployment of perception-related tasks. By the end of the course, participants will understand perception concepts and develop ROS2-based solutions for robotic perception. They'll also gain hands-on experience deploying custom machine learning models with the Easy Perception Deployment package, utilizing OpenCV and ONNX libraries. This prepares them for advancement in machine learning and computer vision, enhancing industrial efficiency.

European Trainings

The ROS 2 Industrial Training in Europe is organised in cooperation with The Construct. It covers the subjects of ROS 2 basics, navigation and manipulation. Trainers and course materials are supplied by The Construct. ROS-Industrial member organizations have free seats according to their membership agreement.

The ROS 2 Industrial Workshops are focussed technical workshops that spotlight a specific topic in the ROS 2 echosystem. The workshops usually take one day. Workshops have been conducted for "Setting up a ROS 2 manipulation cell" and "Using the new ROS 2 CANopen Stack".
