on-site training at Fraunhofer IPA
Stuttgart, Germany

Whether you're new to ROS 2 or looking to deepen your knowledge, our workshops offer practical training with experienced instructors. Work with real robot cells, explore established ROS tools and frameworks, and learn how to apply them to industrial robotics.

Choose from four workshops covering ROS 2 fundamentals, robot modelling and calibration, motion planning, and force-controlled robot programming.

Morning Sessions | 8:30–12:30

Session B: ROS 2 in Practice
Bring up a complete robotic workcell with ROS 2!
Get hands-on experience with different robot hardware and learn how to bring up a complete robotic cell. Connect robots and sensors, work with coordinate frames using URDF and TF, and perform a practical camera calibration on a real robot setup.

Session A: ROS 2 Basics
Get started with ROS 2!

Learn the fundamentals of ROS 2, explore its communication mechanisms and development tools, and create your first ROS 2 nodes in Python through hands-on exercises.

Afternoon Sessions | 13:30–17:30

Session D: pitasc - Force-Controlled Robot Programming
Discover flexible robot programming for assembly and disassembly!
Learn how pitasc enables modular, reusable, and manufacturer-independent robot programming. Build a force-controlled applications on a real robot cell.

Session C: ROS 2 Manipulation Planning
Plan and execute robot motions!
Explore motion planning with MoveIt and Tesseract, compare different planning approaches, and learn how to handle obstacles and collision checking. Apply your knowledge to a practical pick-and-place task.
